As India is on the cusp of a renewable energy revolution, solutions to get the most out of still-maturing technologies are paramount. Seshaasai is proud to offer RFID-powered management systems for solar panels to power initiatives such as the Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO) and the National Solar Mission.
Seshaasai’s RFID and IoT solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of this fast-evolving industry, ensuring efficient management and real-time monitoring of solar assets. Our technology enhances operational efficiency and also ensures compliance with regulatory standards such as the MNRE guidelines, which mandate trackability of solar panels with RFID technology.
Our panel tracking system provides real-time visibility of solar panels across vast solar farms. This solution enables precise monitoring of each panel, ensuring that maintenance teams can quickly identify and address issues. The system interfaces are designed to be user-friendly, making it easy for workers to access critical information on-site, thereby reducing downtime, increasing operational efficiency and simplifying maintenance.
RFID is proving to be a critical technology to get the most out of renewable energy solutions. These cut across monitoring, transparency, adoption and innovation.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued guidelines for the use of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels in India. For your convenience, these are listed below.
Each photovoltaic module used in any solar power project in India must have an RFID tag for identification purposes. This is to ensure traceability and quality control.
The aforementioned RFID tag can be placed either inside or outside the PV module’s laminate. It must be able to withstand harsh environmental conditions such as UV exposure, humidity, and temperature fluctuations, ensuring the tag remains functional for the entire lifespan of the solar panel. Seshaasai offers tags in a variety of tags that can withstand harsh weather conditions.
The RFID tag must be designed to last for 25 years. This is to ensure long-term traceability and monitoring throughout the panel’s operational life. Our in-house manufacturing capability ensures quality control to give you tags that last as long as your panels.
Each RFID tag must be encoded with specific details, including the names of the manufacturers (PV module and solar cell both), along with the dates of manufacture. Additionally, there should be technical aspects such as wattage, efficiency, and expected performance. A unique serial number should identify each module.
Seshaasai’s rich history of compliance ensures that all your bases are covered.
While Seshaasai’s primary focus in renewable energy has been on solar power, RFID technology has potential applications in other forms too. For instance, in wind energy, RFID can be used for asset tracking and maintenance of turbines, ensuring timely inspections and repairs. In bioenergy, RFID solutions can track the movement and processing of biomass, enhancing supply chain transparency and operational efficiency. As the renewable energy landscape evolves, Seshaasai is committed to expanding its RFID offerings to support a broader range of sustainable energy sources - to help India and the world transition to a greener tomorrow.
Seshaasai specialises in using technology to solve business problems. We provide tailor-made solutions for BFSI, retail, manufacturing, supply chain, government, renewable energy and more.
