Multipurpose Cards

Identity Cards

Student and staff identity cards are embedded with RFID and NFC chip-based technology with the capacity to store additional information through QR codes and barcodes, holographic images, and unique identification codes for multiple applications.

  • Attendance: Involves RFID reader placed at classroom entrances that detect students through their smart cards and marks their attendance. The system flags errors if it detects more than one attendance on the card.
  • Area Access: Cards can store information that allow access to certain areas such as hostels, libraries and conference halls.
  • Wifi Access: Students can access wifi through QR codes printed on their smart cards. This supports monitoring internet usage on campus servers.
  • Locker Storage: Owners can use their cards to open and close lockers by tapping the card which authenticates user access.
  • Canteen and Meals: Canteen access are often conditional in residential campus. The smart card can authorise or limit access based on these conditions as well as hold additional information such as personalised meal plans for all students.

Library Management System

Each book in the library will be fitted with RFID tags eliminating the need to manually check-in and checkout books and monitor the library inventory. When students leave the library, the RFID tags on the books are matched with their campus cards, which are then recorded in the system. The RFID reader at the library entrance responds to borrowing limits and shuts the gates. Overdue books are charged on the student prepaid cards. This innovative solution has helped institutes scale their libraries, giving them the ability to trace every book, classify and arrange them easily back onto the shelves.

Smart Certificates

Seshaasai is working with a number of universities in India to provide students with anti-counterfeit and highly valid certificates. From sophisticated holograms, controlled watermarked paper and secure ink to complex numbering systems, these certificates are a consolidation of student life at the university. NFC/RFID tags, and QR codes on these certificates direct you to the institution’s portal detailing the student’s merits and programs.
